CorrectWaterfallsA waterfall occurs when the river flow falls over a sudden drop in the riverbed. Waterfalls can be difficult to see from upstream but can be easier to hear. Waterfalls come in many shapes and sizes, they can drop vertically falling free from the river bottom drop steeply without falling free of the river bottom drop in a series of steps have a deep pool at the base of the falls fall into shallow water and rocks and have a strong recirculating hole at their base. People can be injured or killed by falling and/or jumping off waterfalls.
