RiverSafe Senior Years 9-10

ACC RiverSafe Senior is a classroom, pool and river based
learning programme about enjoying rivers safely. It is targeted at
secondary school students and has been developed for use with levels
4, 5 and 6 of the Health and Physical Education in the New Zealand
Curriculum.
The ACC RiverSafe learning programme is in two sections.
Section 1: Getting to know rivers
Section 2: Enjoying rivers safely
ACC RiverSafe Senior has been developed so you can work
sequentially through activities to provide students with a logical
learning progression. This progression builds a broad river
knowledge base and then applies the knowledge gained to more
specific activities in and around rivers.
A number of activities can also be used independently or in
combinations of your choice to fit your own learning programme.
To use ACC RiverSafe Senior teachers need;
- One copy of the ACC RiverSafe Junior resource – downloadable
from this page.
- One copy of the video – If Only….Real Life Stories provided
free of charge - order from the resources section of the RiverSafe
website.
- One copy of the Respect Rivers poster provided free of charge
- order from the resources section of the RiverSafe website.
